Kapparis, Cyprus - The east coast all year round holiday spot

The Cyprus holiday resort of Kapparis is situated along the coastline of the east side of the island. It has a thriving community of both Cypriot and European residents. It location makes it an ideal summer and winter holiday destination as it is only 5 minutes drive from the main shopping town of Paralimni where you will find various places of interest, bars, restaurants, some delightful boutiques right up to the large supermarkets. My Property Cyprus has a wide-ranging of self catering villas and apartments in the heart of the holiday resort of Kapparis all of which are ideal for families and couples. The popular resort of Protaras is only 5km away and Ayia Napa is only 8km from Kapparis. There is a bus service which runs from Kapparis to both of these resorts and also a bus service to Paralimni town centre, which is only 2km away.

Kapparis has some of the most amazing sandy coves and from some of these beautiful beaches you can look out towards the ghost town of Famagusta (Verosha). Kapparis has grown quickly over the last few years from a small village into a flourishing community and due to this fact most of the bars, restaurants and supermarkets remain open. You can choose from local traditional Cypriot cuisine, Italian or Chinese restaurants or a kebab if you want something quick to take away. There are wine bars, sports bars and hotel bars in Kapparis all with a relaxed atmosphere making it the ideal destination for a truly relaxing winter or summer holiday.

There are several secluded bays just off the main Kennedy Avenue which have excellent facilities where you will find water sports and snack bars, perfect for lazy days full of sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. Kapparis offers several small supermarkets along the main road to take care of your every day needs.

In the winter months Cyprus also benefits from snow-skiing in Troodos Mountains, usually the snow falls between the months of January till the end of March. The highest point of the Troodos range is Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus. The Cyprus Ski Club has four Ski lifts. Two on the North Face of Mount Olympus, one 350 metres long and the other is 500 metres long. The other two ski-lifts are installed at 'Sun Valley' south of Mount Olympus and are both 150 metres long. The seaside town Kapparis is approximately one and a half hour's drive away from Mount Olympus.

If you are looking for a great winter or summer holiday retreat then Kapparis should be listed as one of your top destinations. For more information you can visit My Property Cyprus website; email rentals@mypropertycyprus.com ; telephone the office (00357) 23 814 477.

Ayia Napa - the most popular Cyprus beach resort

Imagine a dream Cyprus holiday in a private, self-catering holiday apartment or villa, and Ayia Napa is top of the list. Why? Because Ayia Napa has it all...

Few seaside beach resorts are as accessible as Ayia Napa and it is only 20 minutes from Larnaca International airport. Once you've reached your villa or apartment holiday accommodation, the beach fun for families and couples is at your fingertips.

Visitors from around the world have transformed Ayia Napa into a cosmopolitan centre running along some of the island's most attractive beaches: sugary sands, the clear sea, shallow and safe ‘Blue Flag' beaches and water sports for every temperament, choose from a laid-back pedalo ride to bungee jumping close to Nissi beach.

The international flavour extends to Ayia Napa's dining outlets, with everything from local tavernas to American fast food chains alternating with Asian cuisine, Italian favourites, Irish pubs and much more...

Whether you intend to shop or not it is unthinkable that you will leave Ayia Napa without taking home several bargains. Browse the shops with their abundant stock of souvenir trinkets to precious jewellery, giveaway flip-flops to boutique wear.

The village square around the Monastery is at the heart of the resort of Ayia Napa, and - depending on the season - the scene of festivals, street artists, live music or you may simply prefer a casual stroll in the sun.

Nobody should miss the chance to visit Ayia Napa, if only once to experience it's distinctive, bubbling atmosphere. So when you're ready to set your holiday dates, check out My Property Cyprus for the best value in self-catering holiday rental apartments or luxurious villas in the best locations.

Protaras – the coastal paradise for self-catering holiday accommodation

Often said in the same breath as Ayia Napa, Protaras is like a smaller model of neighbouring village of Ayia Napa, only a few minutes drive or bus ride away from it and about 30 minutes from the International Airport of Larnaca.

Though it echoes the holiday fun of Ayia Napa, Protaras offers you the distinct advantages of its setting: the sweeping beaches, golden sands and water sports of Fig Tree Bay, the hidden seclusion of the tiny coves, and the perfect balance of tranquility and resort activity, for you to mix and match according to taste.

Dotted with self-catering holiday apartments and luxurious villas, Protaras is surrounded with quaint villages with their local churches, coffee shops and cultivated fields that reflect the essence of rural life in Cyprus - all minutes away from the full-scale tourist core of the resort.

Protaras is also the gateway to Cape Greco, an unspoiled extract from heaven. Walking paths crisscross a landscape where rich endemic vegetation meets Mediterranean glitter to create images that even the best holiday snapshots cannot fully capture.

To optimize your Protaras holiday experience - carefree seaside leisure day by day - nothing can compete with the freedom and privacy of self-catering holiday apartments or villas. And nobody offers a bigger variety and greater value than My Property Cyprus. To choose your favourite self-catering holiday apartment or villa, simply click here.

Rent a holiday Villa & Scuba Dive in Cyprus in the Winter

For most of Europe it's the winter months but this does not mean we need to hibernate. Just because the beaches are not lined with thousands of holiday makers bronzing in the sunshine does not mean that you cannot have a winter vacation and try something adventurous. Cyprus is renowned for having some of the safest waters in the world and combined with the mild temperatures makes the island a perfect destination for most people who want to learn to dive. It is also a popular place for experienced divers who want to visit some of the top ten diving destinations in the world one of which is the world famous Zenobia wreck. Many tourists during their holidays want to experience the dive sensation and then progress by taking their open water courses enabling them to dive the world wide waters qualified and with diving experience under their belt. Before the summer season kicks back into action and you fancy experiencing scuba diving or even taking a course at your own pace and want to avoid the summer rush, now is the time to book. My Property Cyprus can arrange a self catering holiday villa or self catering holiday apartment on the east coast of Cyprus in the Ayia Napa and Protaras area and introduce you to reputable diving schools with qualified instructors.

Some useful information has been provided by a dive instructor who lives and has worked in Cyprus for the last 6 years.

So, the summer season is over, the Shorty suits have been stored away ready for next year. This does not mean that your diving has to stop. Cyprus waters at worst come down to a low of 17 degrees; this is the lowest temperature I have recorded on my computer. Visibility in the winter months, is most of the time the same as in the summer. The qualified divers amongst you will know that visibility is affected by the rain and winds, obviously if the weather is too bad then we cannot dive. I have dived at Stoney Cove in Leicester in November with the water temperature as low as 3 degrees and visibility at about 5 meters. If we can do it in the UK then the Mediterranean waters are very welcoming.

One of the things that attract divers to Cyprus is the chance to dive the world famous Zenobia Wreck. The wreck is situated off the coast of Larnaca, resting in 42 meters of water on her port side. She is listed as one of the top ten wrecks worldwide. The 172 meter Swedish roll-on, roll-off ferry sank on its maiden voyage from Syria in 1980 after problems with her computer controlled ballast. She is fully laden with 108 Volvo trucks and trailers lying in tact on the lorry deck. The catamaran that moors directly over the wreck sails two to three times a week, weather permitting. Obviously, the boat and wreck itself is a lot quieter in the winter months allowing you the added benefit of seeing fewer divers on the wreck.

Locally, in the Famagusta area we have numerous sites for you to dive. Do not let the fact that it is winter deter you from getting wet.

THE CYPRUS WATERS ARE WAITING FOR YOU!!!!

So if you want to try something new and take a course in scuba diving or add another entry in your dive log and dive one of the top dive sites in the world then book a villa or apartment today and My Property Cyprus will put you in touch with our recommended dive schools
