European Citizenship programme through Cyprus

While you are waiting for your European passport you can enjoy the Cyprus hospitality, the Cyprus weather, and relax in the safe environment of your Cyprus home as your investment continues to make you money.

There are many advantages of a Cyprus Permanent residency permit including that a holder will have all rights that European Union citizens have in Cyprus and that Cyprus resident's application for visa to other European countries and non European countries will be favourably treated. Also the Cyprus permanent residency permit does not expire provided that you and your family visit Cyprus once a year. Between the end of this year and the beginning of 2012 Cyprus will be part of the Schengen state. Permanent residents of Schengen states can move freely into another Schengen country.

Not only do Cyprus citizens have the right of free movement in the EU but they are well respected all over the world for being politically neutral.

This European citizenship programme has many advantages including the fact that while you are waiting for your Cyprus Permanent residency permit to be processed your Cyprus property is continually is increasing in value. Cyprus property also has good rental potential as Cyprus is a very popular tourist destination for many nationalities across Europe and the Middle East. Cyprus unlike most other European countries does not expect you to physically be present in Cyprus although should you decide to take your holidays in Cyprus in your Cyprus home you are only a short haul flight to Cyprus.

Further to meetings held in 2009 the Minister of the Interior adopted favourable treatment of the immigration permit applications to Non European Citizens who acquire a private Cyprus home for their own residence in Cyprus. This measure is part of the effort which the Government is applying for the confrontation of the international economic crisis and especially for the strengthening of the purchase of immovable property in Cyprus, by means of the increase of incentives for the purchase of a Cyprus home by citizens of Non EU Countries.

The Minister of the Interior specifically decided on the favorable treatment of immigration permit applications, category F (6), as defined in the Alien Immigration Regulations of 1972 until 2004, for the citizens of Non EU countries who have acquired by means of purchase a Cyprus private home for their own use in Cyprus, value not lower than €300.000=. It is mentioned that a Cyprus immigration permit is equivalent to a Cyprus permanent residence permit in Cyprus and the holders are exempt from the time consuming immigration procedures which exist for the other categories of Non EU country citizens who enter Cyprus (e.g. consular visa, renewals of residence permit, re-entry permits, etc.).

Category F (6), according to Regulation 5 (F) of the Aliens and Immigration Regulation of 1972 until 2004, refers to persons who are citizens of a Non EU country and who rightfully hold and have at their disposal a guaranteed annual income of an appropriate sum, which is not derived from employment or self-employment in Cyprus but comes from overseas. By the incentive of favorable treatment of the application for immigration permit Category F (6), it is expected that there will be an increase in demand for the purchase of a private Cyprus home from Non EU world country citizens, which will have a positive repercussion on the Cyprus economy.

We at My Property Cyprus, due to the vast relations we have at both Senior Government levels and Private Sector (including a network of professionals we represent in Cyprus), can assist clients in a hassle free procedure to obtain a Cyprus permanent permit for the immediate family (husband, wife, children under 18) and businesses and professionals to open their companies in Cyprus thus making it easier to provide a gateway into the European union market. A couple of key areas which we believe would be of interest to you is the Cyprus Permanent Permits for anybody wanting to use Cyprus as a base for his family due to the security it can provide but also the high level of education can achieve this by buying at least a 300,000 euro worth of property. Not all applicants would be approved; the ones that would most probably be approved are those that have sufficient funds to live in the republic of Cyprus with funds coming from another country and businesses that are not operating in Cyprus. It is essential to know that Cyprus is nearly completing the final discussions with the other EEU countries to enter in to the Schengen Zone.

Schengen Agreement

Active Schengen Visa members

Austria, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands

The Schengen Visa Agreement allows countries to remove their internal borders and allow people to travel without checks from country to country.

The establishment of Companies in Cyprus is something that a lot of professionals and companies based inside or outside European Union are doing for two reasons, number one is to establish an EEU identity for their companies and therefore to operate as a European company accessing 450 million clients in Europe and second is to enjoy the low tax regime we have in Cyprus benefiting this way of higher profits for their companies. The benefit for your company would be the fees on the set up of Cyprus companies but also of other fees from possible company structures.

We also have our own land in different locations in Cyprus. For more information regarding buying a Cyprus property and applications for a Cyprus Permanent residency permit you should follow the attached link and complete and submit the enquiry form at http://sales.mypropertycyprus.com/articles/view/general-enquiry

Cyprus property rent before you buy - "Try before you Buy"

It is said that the two most stressful experiences in life is getting married and moving house and now with the current global economics, and such an unstable market the majority of people are more cautious about making rash choices and committing themselves without a second thought to these huge decisions.

Up until a couple of years ago it was a trend to take the leap of faith and hand over your life savings for a dream home in Cyprus in the sunshine. It was not uncommon for some people to buy a property in Cyprus or in a Country that maybe they had only ever been to on holiday and make a decision to buy a home and settle there. Purchasing a villa abroad or buying an apartment abroad in an unfamiliar town or a village where they had probably never even visited before. Some enthusiasts would only spend a day viewing and then sign on the dotted line agreeing on a contract of sale to part with large sums of money for a villa or an apartment in Cyprus that was off plan or even purchase a Cyprus villa over the internet. I am sure some of us have made this choice and many of you reading this article are probably thinking this decision was very courageous or very stupid.

Sadly for a few people who bought property abroad the bubble did burst and the dream home in the sunshine was not what they thought it would be. Maybe it is because they had never bought property abroad before or lived in a foreign country. Possibly they had set their expectations too high or it could have been due to lack of research. Regretfully we only ever hear the horror stories in the media about the purchasing of property in Cyprus but what about the majority of expatriates that immigrated abroad to Cyprus and have found total bliss retired in Cyprus or settled in their country of residence, still living the reality, happy in their dream home abroad in Cyprus in the sunshine.

Research is the key to success for most of us when making our choices and reaching our final decision in life. Nearly almost everyone will investigate the "for and against" before buying the latest mobile phone or computer console. We will generally try on the clothes and shoes before we purchase and always want to test drive the car before deciding to buy it. So how great would it be if we could test a house before deciding to commit to it!

Now with My Property Cyprus you can. Like only a few other countries My Property Cyprus has taken the lead in property investment in Cyprus. This excellent investment opportunity in Cyprus will suit anyone who has not purchased a property abroad before and is looking to buy a house in Cyprus. My Property Cyprus is the only company on the island who has adopted the new scheme "Try before you buy" which will enable a first time buyer abroad to rent a property in Cyprus giving them enough time to carry out research of a town or village, meet the inhabitants and find out what facilities are available to you in that area. Most of My Property Cyprus properties are located in the Eastern coastal areas of Cyprus from Protaras, Ayia Napa, across to Larnaca. My Property Cyprus has a vast selection of rent to buy properties ranging from bungalows, apartments, villas, town houses and exclusive sea front properties in Cyprus.

With the "Try before you Buy" scheme it will also allow you time to feel completely comfortable and certain that when you face your decision to buy a property in Cyprus you will make the right one.

Who will suit the "Try before you Buy"

Anyone and everyone is the answer.

Maybe you have been offered work abroad and you will be relocating to Cyprus with your family.

Or you just want to try a new life in Cyprus, new job in Cyprus and new start abroad.

Possibly you are waiting for your assets in your own country to mature.

Alternatively it could be you are not sure where to invest your savings.

Perhaps you have family already living abroad in Cyprus and have considered joining them.

It could be that you have a couple of favourite places in mind that you would like to retire to in Cyprus and would prefer to spend some time living in the area.

How it works

  • One of our representatives will show you our range of rent to buy properties in Cyprus and you choose your dream home from a selection of available properties in different locations around Cyprus that is within your budget. (Rental prices will vary pending location and size of property).
  • You agree on a Cyprus property, the property sale price and the rental payments. Our agents will be able to assist with any questions or enquiries you have about the properties and the locations.
  • A contract for an agreed period is drawn up between the Landlord and you the Tenant.
  • At the end of the rental period if you decide to buy the Cyprus property all monies paid during the rental period will be deducted from the original market price.
  • Our representatives will assist and advise you with the final buying process in Cyprus.
  • If you decide not to buy then you inform our agents, vacate the property at the end of the agreed term and just walk away.

It's simplistic and hassle free.

Do your homework and weigh up the pro's and cons

In your favour

Initial commitment is an agreed rental period.

Time for you to explore the area

Examine and live in the property

Study the costs of utilities and living expenses

It is a trial period emigration to see if it works for you.

Get to know the climate

Try the local cuisine

Check out supermarkets

Connect with the neighbours

Investigate the healthcare and prescription charges

Rental monies offset against purchase

Not in your favour

Only you can answer this one!

It is sold in canisters which you can collect or arrange delivery if you are purchasing a large amount for gas central heating by contacting the distributors in Cyprus at http://www.eko.com.cy/uploads/LPG%20Distributors.pdf

Law and Legal

For most people law in your own country of origin can be a little daunting but in Cyprus the Cyprus law is closely related to laws of the UK due to the fact that Cyprus was under British rule until 1960. Cypriot Lawyers will be able to provide information on creating a Will and should be able to advise you of the best option regarding your estate.

You can find out more information on Wills and Inheritance laws in Cyprus by visiting the following link which was prepared by Louise Zambartas UK Solicitor/Cyprus Advocate http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/information/10/wills.asp

Leisure

Many retired persons and pensioners opt for countries where the climate is good enough for them to enjoy their favourite pastime like Golf, sailing, swimming, walking, biking and visiting historical sites or just simply lounging on a beach or round a pool in the glorious sunshine, well Cyprus can offer all of the above to anyone who does decide to retire in Cyprus. Golf is a big favourite in many Mediterranean countries and for the retired in Cyprus the game of golf will only get better with the introduction of the proposed golf course situated close to Larnaca. There are already golf courses on the Paphos side of the island which are enjoyed by the young and retired in Cyprus. If you are a keen sailor, love the open water and look forward to spending your days bobbing around on a boat in the Mediterranean Sea then we are pleased to announce that Cyprus is constructing large marinas across the Island in Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. More information can be found on either of the following links http://www.cyprus-mail.com/cyprus/new-marinas-aim-sailing-tourists

http://www.free-press-release.com/news/200802/1202818165.html

Many people dream of buying a boat when they retire and spending their retirement on a boat in warm Mediterranean waters. With lots of boats to choose from and the peace of mind knowing that there is plenty of mooring space the dream of retiring to Cyprus and owning a boat in Cyprus can now become a reality. If you are not sure if you want to completely invest in a boat and own one outright then there are places in Cyprus where you can part own the boat and book the days you want to use the boat. More details can be found by visiting the following link http://www.myboatshare.eu/. There is also the opportunity to to clay target shoot across Cyprus and in the Famagusta town of Paralimni. The following link will provide more information about this

http://www.cssf-shooting.org/inter2/09ParGP_03_general%20Information.pdf

Also there is a darts league in Cyprus which is usually played during the winter season. Retirement in Cyprus means you have time to enjoy the Cyprus beaches and where else but the tranquil island of Cyprus can you enjoy a leisurely swim in the Mediterranean Sea in crystal clear, safe warm waters nearly all of the year round.

Infrastructure

Over the last ten years the roads in Cyprus have vastly improved therefore making the travel time shorter and trips from Famagusta to Paphos a lot smoother. Driving in any foreign country can be intimidating although for UK nationals retiring to Cyprus driving will feel the same. As in the UK you drive on the left in Cyprus but the motorways are only two lanes, well signposted and never swarming with vehicles. The major cities like Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos have a larger volume of traffic than the rural areas but it is still minimal in comparison to other major EU cities. As the volume of traffic in relatively low in Cyprus the pollution levels are also low. It is not only the benefits of low pollution but the car tax is also calculated on the CC of the vehicle making small cars in Cyprus relatively cheap to run. If you are moving abroad and retiring to Cyprus or near to retirement and have a fairly new vehicle which you would like to keep and take with you when you move abroad to retire to Cyprus you can read more information on car taxes and importing a car on the following link http://www.mof.gov.cy/mof/customs/customs.nsf/ced07_en/ced07_en?OpenDocument

Travel

Due to Cyprus being centrally located flanked by the Middle East and the rest of Europe exotic locations that you have always wanted to visit for a holiday in your retirement like Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Abu Dhabi or even Australia means that the travelling time from Cyprus is shorter. The new Cyprus International Larnaca Airport was completed in 2009 and more destinations from Cyprus were added to the list of existing places to visit. Budget low cost airlines are now flying from the UK to Cyprus like Easyjet, Ryanair and Monarch. To return to the UK from Cyprus to see loved ones it is only a 4 and a half hour flight. Cyprus has a number of travel agents which will be able to assist you with holiday information and nearly all of the representative have a good command of the English language.

Pets and Vets

For all the animal lovers that are concerned about bringing their pets with them and getting the proper pet care or getting a pet when they retire to Cyprus abroad you will be pleased to know that Cyprus has veterinary clinics and pet shops all over the island. The Brits especially are a nation of animal lovers and you will be pleased to know that most clinics are capable of carry out the following procedures; General Examinations, Inoculations, Chipping, Spaying, Neutering, X Ray, Ultra Sound, All operative procedures, Dietary advice, Scientifically designed foods and Grooming. For more information you can visit the following link http://petcarecyprus.com/

Beers, wines and dining out

Just because you're on a pension and you are a pensioner living abroad in Cyprus you still deserve to treat yourselves to a few nights of wining and dining. Try the traditional dishes of Cyprus and what could be better than sitting al-fresco in a traditional tavern in the heart of the Cypriot countryside enjoying delicious food and good wine. Make sure you are hungry and have plenty of time to relax when you order a Meze as there can sometimes be over 20 dishes. There is either a meat or fish Meze which will depend on the restaurant. The average cost of a Meze for 2 persons and a bottle of wine will cost as little as €35 (village tavern's will usually be slightly less expensive than the main tourist areas). Cypriots enjoy their traditional fare but are also keen to try other international cuisine and dishes from all over the world. If you are a non-Cypriot retired in Cyprus and like something unusual or want to stick to a dish closer to your homeland then the choice is enticing. Legend has it that flood wiped out almost all living creatures except Noah's Ark and its contents to give birth to a new pure generation. Also it is believed that ceremonies are held in honour of Aphrodite and Adonis. Traditionally the holiday was celebrated by Cypriots at the beach of Ammochostos and the celebrations would fall on the Pentecost Sunday and on the Monday of the Holy Spirit. Nowadays the celebrations occur in all the major coastal resorts, Agia Napa, Protaras Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Polis. Depending on the town the celebrations could sometimes be extended into the next week. Go online today and check out some of our fantastic Protaras rental properties or Ayia Napa villas to rent so you can enjoy the celebrations. The festival starts with an ecclesiastical ceremony. Then a priest throws a cross into the sea and a diver recovers it. He is blessed and is given a sovereign, and then the festivities continue with swimming competitions, traditional dance and song. Purification of body and soul is symbolised by a dousing of water so don't be surprised if you are the victim of a water spurt from a water gun as you stroll along Protaras Avenue or along the coast of Ayia Napa.

Protaras and Ayia Napa will stage concerts and games near the waterfront close to the golden beach of Fig Tree Bay, over a three-day period. The celebrations include traditional dances, water sports displays and competitions as well as concerts by well-known artists. Fig Tree Bay in Protaras has held some fantastic celebrations over the years including live concerts and fireworks with famous singers. Don't miss out on the concert and festivities this year which will be held in Protaras, with a live concert at Fig Tree Bay Protaras on the Sunday after the amazing fireworks display at 9:00pm. Protaras Beaches uncovered

Any one who has been to Protaras would have certainly visited the unmistakable Fig Tree Bay. A fantastic area of golden soft sand with variations of blue clear waters which lead you out to a small island. Protaras has a huge expanse of fantastic beach which stretches right across the heart of the Protaras resort known simple as Protaras Beach and at one end of this fantastic Protaras coastline you will find the fig trees, the delicious smell of Cyprus cuisine and the beautiful "Fig Tree Bay". Its name derived from the fig trees located on the edge of the beach which are still apparent today. Protaras is a very popular resort with families and couples looking for a great safe atmosphere with a wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops and not forgetting an amazing beach to relax on. If you are looking to stay in or near Protaras then My Property Cyprus has holiday apartments or Protaras villa holiday rental for a perfect self catering Protaras holiday close to Protaras beach, some of them within a 3 minute walk. If it is beautiful sandy bay you crave to snorkel or relax in then take a short walk along the promenade into the little holiday resort of Pernera. Here you will find a handful of bays, including Louma Bay and Mouzoura Beach and a few little quiet sandy bays in between all with a relaxed atmosphere, great beaches, clear safe EU blue flag waters, amenities and all perfect for snorkeling. As you continue along the coastline you will discover the unforgettable Serena Bay with spectacular villas lining the coastline it is an absolutely breath taking bay. You can take lunch at the Serena Bay restaurant under the trees in the shade whilst listening to some chilled out music enjoying the almost hippy atmosphere and admiring the tranquil Mediterranean view. Moving further north you come to Kapparis which has two great beaches Skoutari Beach and Fireman's beach, both very popular with Cypriots, perfect for a picnic and great for snorkeling. My Property Cyprus can offer many types of holiday apartment in Kapparis or Kapparis holiday villas to rent along the beach of Kapparis or even in the heart of the holiday resort. Heading back in the direction of Ayia Napa and after Fig tree Bay you will discover Green Bay. This is just on the outskirts of Protaras and has water sports available. Its aquatic life is in abundance which makes it very popular with scuba divers and snorkeling. For a spot of lunch you would have to leave the beach. Even further off the beaten track heading in the direction of Napa you will come across Konnos Bay. As you descend into this bay down the twisty track you will notice the distinct smell of pine and notice that the route is surrounded by pine trees. Parking areas are staggered along the road and you can join the pathway on foot which will take you down to the bay itself. Its shallow crystal clear waters and beautiful soft golden sand is outstanding and only by experiencing Konnos Bay will you understand the reason why people make this journey. You can grab a spot of lunch or a refreshing drink from the restaurant under the trees, venture out on the water sports or just relax on the beach.

We have Great Land Opportunities in Cyprus

The all year round sunshine island of Cyprus is not only a very popular destination for the holiday maker searching for the perfect Cyprus holiday villa in the sunshine but has in recent years become the most sort after area for Europeans to immigrate to. Previously Cyprus was considered only as a place for the retired Europeans looking for somewhere to relax in the sunshine and take advantage of the benefits Cyprus offers. These days most of the immigrants residing in Cyprus are families and couples from across Europe who have chosen to live and work here making Cyprus their home. Most people choose Cyprus as their place of residence as it has exceptional climate as it is the most Middle Eastern European Country, the unemployment rate is approximately 4% and it has a very low crime rate.

The population growth rate of Cyprus has steadily continued climb and current figures show this at 1.04%. As the Population Growth Rate steadily increases in Cyprus it attracts more business ventures and opportunities, creating more job opportunities and also the need for more properties.

With a few exceptions, most member states will experience population decline between 2005 and 2050. Among the countries set to avoid population decline are the smaller states, such as Luxemburg, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus and Sweden. There are projected to be considerable differences between the individual Member States. Between 2008 and 2060, the population is projected to rise in thirteen Member States and fall in fourteen. The strongest population growth is projected to be found in Cyprus (+66%), Ireland (+53%), Luxembourg (+52%), the United Kingdom (+25%) and Sweden (+18%), and the sharpest declines in Bulgaria (-28%), Latvia (-26%), Lithuania (-24%), Romania(-21%) and Poland (-18%). For more information concerning the population growth figures you can refer to the following link:-http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do?reference=STAT/08/119&format=HTML&aged=0&language=EN&guiLanguage=en

As Cyprus population has expanded and the need for residential homes in Cyprus has increased their has become a shortage of plots in Cyprus, the build factors have been reduced, therefore Cyprus land shortage has increased forcing Cyprus property investments to increase predicting higher capital Growth. The demand for property in Cyprus has risen as foreign investors from the EU, Middle East and Russia are choosing Cyprus as their holiday destination and Cyprus property for investment for their future investment as it benefits from a number of factors including exemption of estate duty on inheritance shares, excellent healthcare and advanced infrastructure.

Cyprus land value has also raised due to the encouraging Cyprus Tax Benefits. An advantage of registering a trading company in Cyprus is the desirable tax regime of 10% on the corporate profits.Favourable tax structures for:

1. Holding companies

2. Royalty companies

3. Finance companies

4. Real estate companies

5. Trusts

6. Trading companies

7. Collective investment schemes

8. Shipping companies

Recently The Minister of the Interior for Cyprus adopted a favourable treatment of Cyprus immigration permit applications to citizens of non EU countries. This shall apply to a non EU citizen who acquires a Cyprus private home over €300,000 for their own residence in Cyprus. A Cyprus permanent residence permit in Cyprus means the holder is exempt from the time consuming Cyprus immigration procedures which exist for non EU country citizens who enter Cyprus, (e.g. consular visa, renewals of residence permit, re-entry permits, etc.) The holder of category F Cyprus permanent resident permit is allowed to apply for a Cyprus passport in the 6th year of residency and may also enjoy all the rights and benefits of any European citizen in Cyprus. Due to this there is an increase in demand for the purchase of private Cyprus homes from non EU country citizens. This has a positive repercussion on the Cyprus economy and future Cyprus investment. Cyprus is due to join the Schengen Agreement. Active Schengen Visa members are:-

  • Austria
  • Germany
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Greece
  • Iceland
  • Italy
  • Luxemburg
  • Norway
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • The Netherlands

Therefore it is only a matter of time when Cyprus will be part of the passport free Schengen zone. Additional Schengen Articles can be found at the following website address http://www.lifeistravel.org/content/434 - Cyprus will join in 2010

http://www.eurofedop.org/spip.php?article180 - Cyprus in the next enlargement.

http://www.euronews.net/2007/12/21/final-curtain-for-cold-warfrontiers/ - Cyprus requested a year delay

http://ec.europa.eu/youreurope/nav/en/citizens/travelling/schengenarea/index.html - With a Schengen visa, you may enter one country and travel freely throughout the Schengen zone; internal border controls have disappeared.

http://www.schengen.dk/ - The new EU countries Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania are - as all new EU member states - bounded to be part of the Schengen Agreement.

We have Great Land Opportunities for investors and individuals wanting to purchase Cyprus plots and develop plots or land in Cyprus in a beautiful Cyprus village town only 10 minutes from the golden beaches of Ayia Napa. Cyprus at Easter

Holiday makers in Cyprus at Easter time strolling through the villages of Ayia Napa or Protaras Paralimni would be forgiven for thinking they had been whisked into a scene from Alice in Wonderland.

Giant paper-mâché rabbits, chickens and decorated Easter eggs are commonplace on the corners of the streets in Paralimni, Dherynia, Sotira, Protaras and Ayia Napa as Cyprus celebrates one of the most important times in its calendar year. Anyone taking a self catering Ayia Napa villa holiday or Protaras villa holiday in Cyprus either on their own, as a couple or with families will certainly be in their element with the Easter celebrations. In Ayia Napa around the Ayia Napa monastery you will find symbols of Easter in abundance. If you are booked to stay in one of our Ayia Napa holiday villas or Ayia Napa holiday apartments, Proteras holiday villa or traditional Cyprus village holiday over the Easter period you will be able to enjoy the celebrations and traditions of the Cypriot people.

The fact is while spending summer months abroad in your holiday apartment Ayia Napa or Protaras holiday villa is the obvious choice for holiday makers it is criminal to under estimate the beauty of Aphrodite's isle in the spring. Protaras holiday villa rentals or Ayia Napa holiday apartment rentals are popular at this time and Easter is arguably one of the best times of the year to see traditional Cyprus in its full glory.

A month or so later, the Mediterranean waters have warmed up and Cyprus' greenery has started to disappear which is more commonly noted by the tourists visiting the island. Around April time, Cyprus is perfect for those who enjoy warm but milder temperatures and also want to make the most of Cypriot flora and fauna. My Property Cyprus has accommodation for the holiday maker looking to seek a Protaras holiday villa or an Ayia Napa holiday apartment or even a traditional Cyprus village holiday during the Easter period and all year round.

During Easter time you can take a walk along the stunning near empty golden beaches like Fig Tree Bay in Protaras or tuck into fresh fish in Ayia Napa with a Greek salad alongside Ayia Napa's breathtaking harbour - it really is heavenly. While Lent is an intensely solemn religious time, accompanied by strict fasting, it is then followed by a wonderful celebratory feasting period over Easter - a fantastic time to experience the true depth of Cypriot tradition, Cyprus culture and Cyprus history.

To book a Protaras villa, Ayia Napa villa or Ayia Napa apartment close to the Ayia Napa beaches or even something in the Cyprus villages then contact My Property Cyprus on 00357 23 814 477 or email rentals@mypropertycyprus.com . There are wine bars, sports bars and hotel bars in Kapparis all with a relaxed atmosphere making it the ideal destination for a truly relaxing winter or summer holiday.

There are several secluded bays just off the main Kennedy Avenue which have excellent facilities where you will find water sports and snack bars, perfect for lazy days full of sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. Kapparis offers several small supermarkets along the main road to take care of your every day needs.

In the winter months Cyprus also benefits from snow-skiing in Troodos Mountains, usually the snow falls between the months of January till the end of March. The highest point of the Troodos range is Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus. The Cyprus Ski Club has four Ski lifts. Two on the North Face of Mount Olympus, one 350 metres long and the other is 500 metres long.
