Cyprus at Easter

Holiday makers in Cyprus at Easter time strolling through the villages of Ayia Napa or Protaras Paralimni would be forgiven for thinking they had been whisked into a scene from Alice in Wonderland.

Giant paper-mâché rabbits, chickens and decorated Easter eggs are commonplace on the corners of the streets in Paralimni, Dherynia, Sotira, Protaras and Ayia Napa as Cyprus celebrates one of the most important times in its calendar year. Anyone taking a self catering Ayia Napa villa holiday or Protaras villa holiday in Cyprus either on their own, as a couple or with families will certainly be in their element with the Easter celebrations. In Ayia Napa around the Ayia Napa monastery you will find symbols of Easter in abundance. If you are booked to stay in one of our Ayia Napa holiday villas or Ayia Napa holiday apartments, Proteras holiday villa or traditional Cyprus village holiday over the Easter period you will be able to enjoy the celebrations and traditions of the Cypriot people.

The fact is while spending summer months abroad in your holiday apartment Ayia Napa or Protaras holiday villa is the obvious choice for holiday makers it is criminal to under estimate the beauty of Aphrodite's isle in the spring. Protaras holiday villa rentals or Ayia Napa holiday apartment rentals are popular at this time and Easter is arguably one of the best times of the year to see traditional Cyprus in its full glory.

A month or so later, the Mediterranean waters have warmed up and Cyprus' greenery has started to disappear which is more commonly noted by the tourists visiting the island. Around April time, Cyprus is perfect for those who enjoy warm but milder temperatures and also want to make the most of Cypriot flora and fauna. My Property Cyprus has accommodation for the holiday maker looking to seek a Protaras holiday villa or an Ayia Napa holiday apartment or even a traditional Cyprus village holiday during the Easter period and all year round.

During Easter time you can take a walk along the stunning near empty golden beaches like Fig Tree Bay in Protaras or tuck into fresh fish in Ayia Napa with a Greek salad alongside Ayia Napa's breathtaking harbour - it really is heavenly. While Lent is an intensely solemn religious time, accompanied by strict fasting, it is then followed by a wonderful celebratory feasting period over Easter - a fantastic time to experience the true depth of Cypriot tradition, Cyprus culture and Cyprus history.

  1. Some people also consider all inclusive cyprus to be those staying on an all inclusive hotel in North Cyprus and also including food and drink in the price.

  2. Protaras has an adequate local bus service. However, the frequency of the buses varies from time to time. The main local route runs from Ayia Napa to Paralimi via Protaras. Other major long distance routes link the resort to places such as Larnaca Airport and city, Nicosia and Limassol. It is recommended one uses the cars available on hire to explore the island in total. Alternatively, taxis are also available.
