The applicant for the European citizenship must prove that they have initiated such actions of in those areas of work and that they are vital for the Cyprus economy or the applicant for European citizenship has set up a high level research center for local research.
• The applicant that applies for European citizenship/a Cyprus passport has personal deposits for an amount of at least €17 million with Cypriot Banks (or companies' cash deposits which the applicant controls).
• If the applicant for a European passport can prove a total value of €26 million from having a combination of direct investment and business operation and Bank deposits.

These financial measures stipulated above are aim to attract wealthy individuals and businesses and as a measure can help the Cyprus economy during this difficult period

Other conditions include:-

• Naturalization - A person who has been a permanent resident and who lives legally in Cyprus for a period of 7 years may apply.
• Also a person can apply for a Cyprus European passport if the applicant is married to a Cypriot and applies for the Cyprus passport after 3 years of their stay.
• The applicant of a Cyprus passport/European citizenship must be over 30 years of age and not have a criminal record.
